How our figures are made

Where the figures come from

Pack counts, stated sizes, colours and piece dimensions are the ones stated for the item itself. We publish them as they stand rather than rounding them into something tidier. Where a maker states no figure, it stays out of the specification table and we do not estimate it.

How the descriptions are written

We read our own product bullet points for facts, then write the page copy fresh. We state a material only when a bullet actually announces one, and we do not read a bullet that says a product is free of something as saying it contains that thing. That sounds obvious, and it is exactly the check that stops us calling a cleaning sponge glass just because its bullets mention cleaning glass.

Prices

Prices carry the date of the update that produced them. We updated the current set 26 September 2026. Two rules govern them:

• If there is no buyable offer, the item leaves the range until the offer returns. No stale price, no estimate, no placeholder page.
• A figure that jumps implausibly between updates loses to the previous one, which we keep rather than publish the jump.

Of 666 items, 666 carried a price at the last update and 0 did not.

Two rules every figure follows

• Stated for the item. A size, a count or a material is the one given for that item, in its own units.
• Priced only when buyable. A price appears while the item can be bought at that price, with the date of the update beside it.

Safety and health pages

Pages touching injury, medical devices or road safety carry a standing notice that they are information rather than advice, and they cite published guidance from national bodies. Every source was opened and read before it was cited, and we print the date of that reading next to the link. The full list is here.
